Consulting
We knew very little about private practice when we started out years ago. We had the clinical experience to see clients, but we both came from agencies and didn't know all the ins and outs of running a practice. We didn't know where to start. How much professional liability insurance do I need? How do I get clients? How do I bill insurance? How much money do I need to set aside for taxes? Do I need to form an LLC?
We had so many questions, and it was hard for us to envision what private practice could look like professionally, financially, and personally. We polled colleagues, read, called insurance companies, and hired attorneys and CPAs as we tried to wade our way through our new careers. Fast forward to 2017, and we've created a new practice together, expanded our physical space, and added 8 other therapists along the way. We're overflowing with referrals and have clients waiting to get an appointment. We've learned SO much, and we love sharing what has worked for us. We don't have all the answers, but when we can't answer something, we generally know where to point friends and colleagues for more information. The bottom line is that private practice is easier than we'd ever thought it would be, and you can do it too. Consultations about your practice are just $50 per hour for co-op members, $120 an hour for non-members.
