Mallory Ware, Intern
Hi there! I'm Mallory, a 2nd-year master's student at the University of Georgia studying Social Work. I am currently working under the supervision of Leslie Schwartz and Leigh Ellen Magness as I complete my practicum hours and eventually become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
I always knew I wanted to work with children since I was a child myself. I began by assisting my dance teachers at the studio. Now, I teach my own dance class in addition to directing both youth & adult dance companies. Dance has gifted me the experience of working with kids while also helping them tackle tough moments and push through challenging steps and skills. I know for some children real growth happens with individual attention and care.
During my 1st year of graduate school, I worked in Clarke County Schools under a School Social Worker. In this position, I had the opportunity to meet weekly and individually with 10 students to discuss their emotional, behavioral, and academic goals.
In my work with children at Athens Therapy Co-op, I hope to create a therapeutic relationship that provides the support your child may
need to face their fears, challenge themselves, develop skills and learn more about themselves. I have worked with diverse ages of children - from early childhood to adolescence, and I can't wait to meet your child!
