Amanda Gollehon, Intern
My name is Amanda and I am pursuing my Marriage and Family Therapy Master's degree at the Mercer University School of Medicine. I believe that individuals thrive in warm, supportive relationships and when given the tools to invest in those relationships. In light of this, I hope to work with families struggling with a variety of issues. I am particularly interested in working with children, teens, and young adults who are navigating depression, anxiety, identity formation, life transitions, and trauma. Whenever possible, I seek to integrate the family or partners into my sessions to gain a multifaceted view of the problem, and to make sure all members are working together toward individual and familial wellbeing. I am also passionate about providing healing to individuals from all racial, ethnic, spiritual, and gender identities.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my dog and husband, as well as volunteering in various Athens organizations, meditating, and eating good food. I am excited to be interning with Athens Therapy Co-op through July of 2023.
Please note: insurance companies do not cover sessions with pre-licensed interns, so no insurance will be billed.
